They are the largest professional association for therapists, with thousands of members specialising in everything from sports and remedial therapies to complementary healthcare and holistic beauty treatments. As a not-for-profit organisation run by therapists, for therapists, They are dedicated to advancing and protecting their members' interests and career progression.
They pride themselves on putting our members first in everything they do, from providing essential services to making decisions that affect their profession. And with an elected council of members and a permanent team of FHT staff, many of whom are also qualified therapists, they have the expertise to ensure that their members are supported every step of the way.
To find out more about the FHT please have a look at their website where you can find us listed....
Being a member of the FHT indicates that a therapist has met certain professional standards, adheres to a code of ethics, and engages in continuous professional development. This can provide reassurance about the therapist's qualifications and commitment to delivering quality holistic care.
Membership in the FHT may enhance the likelihood of insurance reimbursement, but it ultimately depends on your specific health insurance policy. Check with your insurance provider to determine if they cover services from FHT-registered therapists and the conditions for reimbursement
Specific policies and coverage can vary widely, so it's best to directly check with your specific insurance company. However, some insurance providers that commonly cover complementary therapies or holistic treatments include AXA PPP Healthcare, Simplyhealth, Westfield, BUPA and WPA. Remember to verify the details of coverage and reimbursement with your insurance provider prior to booking your appointment with us to ensure you can claim.
